An Israeli satellite that can reportedly spy closely on Iran's nuclear programme has sent back its first "high quality" pictures since its launch into space, public radio reported Friday. Photographs from the D3 Eros B1 satellite with a 70-centimetre (28-inch inch) resolution were taken in orbit, 500 kilometres (310 miles) from earth and were transitted to the control room of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI).
The first pictures were taken over Europe and did not therefore feature installations in Iran, the radio reported.
Israel's satellite was launched from a military space launch site in Russia on Tuesday and circumnavigates earth every 90 minutes. Israel considers the Islamic regime in Tehran its chief public enemy and has led international efforts to see Iran slapped with economic sanctions for its alleged nuclear weapons programme. Security fears have been heightened in Israel by menacing comments from Iran's hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has dismissed the Holocaust as a "myth" and has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map".

Russia Launches Israeli Satellite To Help Spy On Iran

Israel put a new observation satellite into service from Russia on Tuesday which will increase the levels of surveillance of Iran's nuclear programme. The satellite was launched from a military space launch site in Russia's far eastern Amur region aboard a Topol solid-fuel rocket booster, the ITAR-TASS news agency said, quoting a spokesman for the facility, Alexei Kuznetsov. In a brief item posted on its website, the Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot quoted an unnamed defence official as saying the satellite would be used to spy on Iran's nuclear activities. ITAR-TASS said the satellite is fitted with a powerful camera "which will permit Israeli intelligence to observe important Iranian targets in the most minute detail." The D33 Eros B1 satellite was successfully placed into orbit about 20 minutes after its launch, the agency said. The satellite was launched by ImageSat, a company that is part-owned by state-run Israel Aircraft Industries. ImageSat said the 280 kilogramme (616 pound) satellite is able to spot objects of no more than 70 centimeters (28 inches) long. "As soon as this satellite goes into orbit, it will place us in the major leagues of countries with photography satellites," ImageSat director general Shimon Eckhaus told Yediot Aharonot. The Eros B is an upgraded versions of the Eros A satellite which is already in operation. Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz hailed the successful satellite launch as "a great achievement of the defence establishment, the defence industries and Israel." "The satellite activity will increase Israel's ability to collect high-quality intelligence at great distances from Israel's borders," he said in a statement. "Israel has shown that it relies first and foremost on itself for protecting its citizens," he said. Israeli Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said this week that Iran represented an existential threat to the survival of the Jewish state. Although Tehran insists its programme is only designed to meet energy needs, Israel is convinced that the real intention is to develop the bomb. Israel itself is believed to be the only state in the Middle East to possess a nuclear arsenal, something that it refuses to confirm or deny.

IAEA Finds no Proof of Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program

04/29/06 "ICH' -- -- In its April 28 report, the International Atomic Energy Agency mentioned the UNSC mandate to Iran of last February:
' • re-establish full and sustained suspension of all enrichment related and reprocessing activities,
including research and development, to be verified by the Agency;
• reconsider the construction of a research reactor moderated by heavy water;
• ratify promptly and implement in full the Additional Protocol;
• pending ratification, continue to act in accordance with the provisions of the Additional
Protocol which Iran signed on 18 December 2003;
• implement transparency measures, as requested by the Director General, including in GOV/2005/67, which extend beyond the formal requirements of the Safeguards Agreement and Additional Protocol, and include such access to individuals, documentation relating to procurement, dual use equipment, certain military-owned workshops and research and development as the Agency may request in support of its ongoing investigations. Despite not being fully in compliance with these demands, Iran maintains that it is in fact fulfilling its obligations under the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty. The IAEA found no smoking gun.
Here is its conclusion, which others will not quote for you at such length:
33. All the nuclear material declared by Iran to the Agency is accounted for. Apart from the small quantities previously reported to the Board, the Agency has found no other undeclared nuclear material in Iran. However, gaps remain in the Agency’s knowledge with respect to the scope and content of Iran’s centrifuge programme. Because of this, and other gaps in the Agency’s knowledge, including the role of the military in Iran’s nuclear programme, the Agency is unable to make progress in its efforts to provide assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran.
34. After more than three years of Agency efforts to seek clarity about all aspects of Iran’s nuclear programme, the existing gaps in knowledge continue to be a matter of concern. This ambiguity is being twisted by the Bush administration to make it seem as though Iran has done something illegal. The report can be read to say that there is no evidence that Iran is doing anything illegal. In fact, under the NPT, countries do have the right to do the sort of experiments Iran is doing. Most of the complaints are not about substance but about something else. Iran's president pledged to continue to cooperate with UN isnspectors. More about Iran later. "Iran's biggest threat since Nazis," said Israeli defence minister Shaul Mofaz, according to the Guardian; "The world must not wait! Since Hitler we Jews have not faced such a threat" as presented by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who "further stirred international outrage by calling on Israeli Jews to be resettled in Europe" (...thus the Guardian).
These guys are hard to please! In the 1930s, Hitler called for the Jews to be resettled outside of Europe, and they declared war on him. Now Ahmadinejad calls for the resettlement of Jews in Europe, and the Jews still respond with a war cry. That is, unless the Guardian missed the point in its report, and the outrage actually came from the Europeans who preferred the Palestinians to serve as unwilling host to these difficult guests.
Anyway I beg to differ: President Ahmadinejad is the biggest threat since Gerard de Nerval, a flamboyant French poet, promenaded a lobster on a blue ribbon lead, just as one exercises a dog, along the Palais Royal gardens in order to épater le bourgeois. A truly poetic soul, an enfant terrible if ever there was one, Ahmadinejad aimed to wake us up from our over-long after-dinner nap. What can the Iranian do if 'Jews' is the only magic word that awakens us from this slumber? Sexual innuendos would not bestir even a child fresh from his AIDS-awareness lesson. An attack of Christianity would be warmly applauded by the undeniable masters of European minds, Messrs Sauerkraut and Finkelrot. In this post-modernist age, when the Vagina Monologues have entered the matinee repertoire, it is not that easy to épater the increasingly blasé bourgeoisie. If Ahmadinejad would call for the resettlement of six million European Muslims outside of Europe, nobody would raise an eyebrow with the possible exception of Oriana Fallaci and M. Le Pen, who might object to his plagiarism. If he were to call for the erasure of France from the world map, the French would not sit up and pay attention: they think there is already a Brussels directive to this effect!
I admire Ahmadinejad. Not as a politician: let the Iranians judge him on this merit. Not as a divine: I leave this to the Muslims. But as a true poet who unveiled our hypocrisy and slaughtered our last sacred cow. This is the only possible explanation of his deeds and words: Iranians have really no reason to care about the Jewish holocaust, one way or other. Nobody accuses them, not even Mr Yehuda Bauer of Jerusalem's Holocaust memorial institute, who is prone to accuse the World and its niece for failing to save the Jews. The Persians from Cyrus to Hosroes to Mohammad Resa Shah were always good to Jews, and even in these mad days there is a large and flourishing Jewish community in Iran. Ahmadinejad spoke about the Holocaust like Hillary conquered Everest ˆ because it presented a challenge!
The innocent revisionist historians were so excited when he toyed with an idea of "finally discovering the truth". They prepared their well-thumbed books and diagrams of gas consumption and body heat. But Ahmadinejad is interested in the hard facts of World War II about as much as Nerval was interested in exercising his lobster. Acceptance of Holocaust dogma is a sign of submission to the Tel AvivˆNew York Axis, a sign of the new colonialism. Ahmadinejad refused it just as St Paul refused to accept the Noahide laws: not because St Paul wanted to partake of pagan sacrifices, but because he did not want to take his orders from the Jews.
The European leaders, the docile supporters of patent war criminals, of George W. Bush, the murderer of umpteen Iraqis, Afghanis and sundry Arabs, of Shaul Mofaz, the murderer of an eight-year-old girl (among hundreds of others) he killed last week in besieged Gaza, all sat up and expressed their outrage. They did not object when Israel strafed and bombed defenceless Gazans. When Israeli politicians threatened to turn Iran into "radioactive desert", they did not describe it as "a call to genocide". By his challenge, president Ahmadinejad saved the honour of human race, as only a poet can do.
I admire Iran, for the fiery crimson of their rose gardens and for the azure of its old mosques, for the ravishing beauty of its women, whose black eyelashes enhance the whiteness of their skin shining through their black chadors. I admire Iran for its marvellous painting that overcame the iconoclastic ravages. I admire Iran for the spiritual subtlety of its poets, who united their love to women with their adoration of God in one undivided chant just as the Song of Songs did. Their Rumi and Jami, Sa'adi and Ferdousi, Hafiz and Khayyam were of the most daring and sincere poets who ever graced our earth. Ahmadinejad is heir to their tradition, a daring mocker of our hypocrisy, a boy who saw through the emperor's new clothes. Even if the ham-fisted Yank should flatten this daredevil, and burn the rose gardens of Shiraz just as he once incinerated the blossoms of Nagasaki, we may be proud of Ahmadinejad, our contemporary who dared to tread on the tiger's tail.

The European and American reaction to Iran's nuclear program was that of Uncle Tom's slaveowner, Simon Legree, on learning of an escaped slave. How does this dusky dare to touch the white masters' toys? Their empty talk of an "Iranian threat" is designed for the ignorant: Iran has never, ever attacked a European nation since the wars for Anatolia in the 5th century BC; whereas European imperialists have repeatedly occupied and controlled Iran, most recently in 1942, or by proxy in 1953, when they deposed democratically-elected Mosaddeq and returned to dominate this ancient nation.
Yes, the old colonialism is dead. England can't rule over Iraq, nor France over Algeria, but the new collective colonialism, that of the imperialist Core of highly industrialised Western nations over the rest of the world, is hardly any better. The old masters have decided to pool their resources and powers to rule their erstwhile slaves together. They switched from the Athenian model where a citizen had his slave, to the Spartan model, where slaves belong to all Spartans. In this new collective imperialist universe, the US is the arm, the enforcer of this new colonialism, while the mind, the ideology is supplied by a vast syndicate that unites and coordinates the majority of newspapers and networks of both left and right from Madrid to Moscow and from Texas to Timbuktu, despite their pretensions of competition and rivalry.
This syndicate is the real powerbase of what two American professors, John Mearsheimer of Chicago, and Stephen Walt of Harvard, (M&W for short) politely called 'Israel Lobby in the US', though this syndicate has other fish to fry beside that of the State of Israel's. While fully approving of M&W's endeavour, we should say: they minimised rather than exaggerated the problem, for it is a global, rather than a local (the US) phenomenon. The fearsome AIPAC is just the visible tip of iceberg below which are miles and miles of solid ice: media lords, chief editors, their pundits, Masters of Discourse, in short. As if by a magic wand, the Iranian crisis made it visible to the naked eye: they have all cried out in one mighty voice like the legion of demons in the Capernaum synagogue in response to Christ's words.
In his thought-provoking speech Ahmadinejad said: "The vast Zionist network has been at the service of the imperialists for decades." This is open to an argument whether the Zionist network serves the imperialists, or the imperialists serve this network. It's an example of Managerial Revolution: Jews were managers for the imperialists, until they took over the show, some would say. Oh no, they remained docile to their imperialist overlords, argue others. Whatever position we take, the Zionists and the Imperialists are surely integrated and intermeshed, and if one accepts the idea of the Iranian threat to Israel, one subscribes to this demonic network.
The nations that refuse the Masters of Discourse are subjugated by force. A nuclear weapon serves as a great equaliser, as did the Smith & Wesson gun in the Wild West. In order to prevent too much equalisation, the American pioneers kept guns out of native hands. The same policy now drives the West in its attempts to keep nuclear power out of reach of Iranians.
A few days ago I was invited to a live discussion on Russian TV Channel One, where the Moscow BBC bureau chief rhetorically asked why a peaceful Iran would need ballistic missiles, and he listed the Iranian missile arsenal. He could not answer the question of why a peaceful Britain would need ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons! Actually, why would anybody need one? But if England, with its long and bloody history of subjugating the Third World from Ireland to Japan, may have these toys, then it is likewise the duty of any important country willing to protect its populace from the Western masters' whims.
Yes, Iran is still working on a peaceful program of atomic energy, but if and when that country decides to build the bomb, we may support this decision, as it would enhance peace. Actually, few people did more for the cause of world peace than Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and their associates Harry Gold and Klaus Fuchs. These wonderful men passed the secrets of American-built nuclear weapons to Russia, and thus saved Moscow and St Petersburg from the fate of Hiroshima. Without their heroic deed, the colonial masters would have turned Russia into a radioactive desert. Joseph Stalin passed the know-how to emerging China, and this was a very good deed -- otherwise the Americans wouldn't have hesitated to nuke Vietnam as they did Japan.
The Russian nuclear shield is the only thing Gorbachev and Yeltsin did not break down in their destruction of the Soviet Union, probably because they did not expect the patriotic forces to ever return to power in Moscow. This shield allows the Russians to disregard the nagging of Frau Merkel, and gives them their freedom of choice: to sell their oil and gas to Europe or to turn the stream towards China. It allows the Belarus people to have the president they elected by huge majority: without it, Lukashenka would share the fate of Noriega and Milosevic for his steadfast refusal to sell the assets of Belarus to George Soros. Let Iranians, too, have this freedom of choice, and restore balance in the region.
And to sincere well-wishers of our Israeli well-being I'll say: Iran is no danger. The truth is, the Jews could live extremely well in Palestine. By making peace with the native inhabitants in 1948, we would have kept our common home, Palestine, as the hub of the Middle East with Iraqi oil coming to Haifa refineries and trains from Baghdad to Cairo flying by Lydda and Jaffa, with Muslim pilgrims coming to al Quds on their way to Mecca, with Christians walking in the footsteps of Christ from Bethlehem to Nazareth and with Jews doing their aliya (this word meant an annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem like the Hajj, rather than a permanent immigration to Palestine as Zionists wont). We would prosper beyond our wildest dreams, as the prophets promised, if we were to kick the nasty old habit of separateness and dominance.
It is not too late even now, sixty years and many deaths later. For this purpose, we may take the advice of Ahmadinejad: let the exclusive Jewish state be eliminated from the map of the region to be replaced by one state of all citizens of the land, Jews or not. "The right to govern belongs to all people of Palestine, be they Muslims, Christians, or Jews", said Ahmadinejad, and by golly, only a Jewish supremacist may object to his words.
When I said this at the TV discussion in Moscow, I was attacked by the Chairman of a Russian Jewish Congress and Director of a Zionist Middle East Institute, a greasy and spotty bully of a man with hanging belly, a living cartoon from Der Sturmer, with the fitting name Satanovsky. "Watch out, - told me Satanovsky after the show, - apparently you have never been beaten hard enough. Here in Moscow we know of no restraints of democracy, my Jewish lads will tear your balls off like they did to many men like you. Israel should remain a Jewish state forever". Such Jewish Mafiosi are the real leaders of the Jewish Lobby and chief supporters of the Jewish state abroad. These sort of people lead the Jewish organisations in Russia, in America and elsewhere. They need a Jewish state to escape their lands in the hour of wrath, but we, the ordinary citizens of Israel, do not need it.
However, the Mafia can't rule forever. I take heart in the words of Ahmadinejad: "The young tree of resistance in Palestine is blooming and blooms of faith and desire for freedom are flowering. The Zionist regime is a decaying and crumbling tree that will fall with a storm. (Remember the parable of the barren tree? - ISH) Palestine is the meeting point of right and wrong. The destiny of the region will be decided in the land of Al-Qods and it will be a great honour to share in the victory of Palestine." The victory of Palestine is our victory and we shall be happy to share in it.
"Now, will there be a war?," one is often asked. I have no full confidence of George Bush, he does not share his plans with me. But while the gatekeepers of the Left say that Oil is the reason for the war, in my view Oil can be the reason for peace. As the price of oil has now crossed the $70 threshold, President Bush must decide whether he will survive its hike above $120 -- whether his voters in the red states will happily accept the advice of an American Jewish Congress pundit and director of their Israel/Middle East Office Eran Lerman (previously of Israeli intelligence) to stop driving cars every other day. Bush has the power to steer the US away from its perilous course, and tell to the Jewish Congress pundits to shove it.
And to my Israeli countrymen: I'll remind you of our age-long tradition of friendship with Iran. Two thousand years ago, a picture of the Iranian capital city Susa was presented on the Eastern gate of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Mishna (Berakoth 9) called for being especially careful towards it: "never show disrespect to the Eastern gate!" According to Rambam, this was done so that they would have the fear of the king of Persia upon them. This tradition is worth remembering and carefully preserving.

"Der Iran ist die größte Gefahr seit den Nazis", sagte Israels Außenminister Shaul Mofaz laut The Guardian1. "Die Welt darf nicht warten! Seit Hitler standen wir Juden keiner gleichartigen Bedrohung gegenüber", wie sie Mahmoud Ahmadinedschad darstellt, der "die internationale Empörung weiter anheizte, als er israelische Juden aufforderte, nach Europa umzusiedeln."
Man kann es ihnen nicht recht machen! In den 30er Jahren verlangte Hitler, daß sich die Juden außerhalb Europas ansiedeln, und diese erklärten ihm den Krieg. Jetzt fordert Ahmadinedschad, daß sich die Juden wieder in Europa ansiedeln, und wieder reagieren die Juden mit Kriegsgeschrei. Oder aber der Guardian hat die Sache in seiner Reportage verwechselt, und die Empörung kam tatsächlich von den Europäern, die lieber die Palästinenser als unwillige Gastgeber für diese schwierigen Gäste haben wollen.
Wie dem auch sei, ich bin anderer Meinung: Präsident Ahmadinedschad verkörpert die größte Bedrohung seit Gerard de Nerval, ein extravaganter französischer Dichter, der einen Hummer gleich einem Hündchen an einer blauen Kordel im königlichen Garten spazieren führte, um das wohlhabende Bürgertum zu verblüffen. Eine wahrlich poetische Seele, ein unbezähmbares Kind, wenn es je ein solches gab. Ahmadinedschad zielt darauf, uns aus unserem überlangen Mittagsschlaf zu wecken. Was soll der Iraner denn anstellen, wenn das Wort "Jude" das einzig magische Wort ist, das uns aus diesem Schlummer aufrührt? Sexuelle Anzüglichkeiten könnten noch nicht mal ein Kind, jüngst aus einem AIDS-Seminar entlassen, aufwühlen. Ein Angriff auf das Christentum würde wärmstens von den nicht zu verleugnenden Gebietern europäischer Geisteshaltung, den Herren Sauer- und Finkelkraut, begrüßt werden. In dieser post-modernistischen Ära, in der sich Vagina-Monologe in das Repertoire von Matineen Eintritt verschafften, ist es immerhin nicht einfach, das zunehmend blasierte Bürgertum zu verblüffen.
Wenn Ahmadinedschad die Umsiedlung von sechs Millionen europäischen Muslimen außerhalb Europas vorschlüge, würde niemand auch nur mit der Wimper zucken, ausgenommen vielleicht Oriana Fallici und Monsieur Le Pen, die möglicherweise etwas gegen dieses Plagiat einzuwenden hätten. Forderte er die Ausradierung Frankreichs von der Landkarte, würden sich die Franzosen nicht aus ihren Sitzen erheben, glauben sie doch, daß dafür schon eine Direktive aus Brüssel vorliegt! Ich bewundere Ahmadinedschad: nicht als Politiker: Dafür sollen ihn die Iraner beurteilen. Nicht als Theologe: Das überlasse ich den Muslimen. Jedoch als einen wahren Dichter, der unsere Heuchelei entlarvt und unsere letzte heilige Kuh schlachtet. Die einzig mögliche Erklärung seiner Worte und Taten ist: Iraner haben tatsächlich keinen nennenswerten Grund, sich um den jüdischen Holocaust zu kümmern. Niemand klagt sie an deswegen, noch nicht einmal Herr Yehuda Bauer von der Jerusalemer Holocaust-Gedenkstätte, der dazu neigt, die Welt und ihre Nichte dafür anzuklagen, daß sie die Juden nicht gerettet haben. Die Perser von Cyrus bis Hosroes und Schah Mohammad Reza Pahlevi waren stets gut zu den Juden, und noch immer, auch noch jetzt in diesen verrückten Tagen, gibt es im Iran eine große und blühende jüdische Gemeinde. Ahmadinedschad sprach über den Holocaust, so wie Hillary einst den Everest eroberte: als eine Herausforderung!
Die arglosen Revisionisten waren richtig aufgeregt, als er mit der Idee spielte, "endlich die Wahrheit aufzudecken". Sie bereiteten ihre gut durchblätterten Bücher und Diagramme über Gasverbrauch und Körperwärme vor. Doch Ahmadinedschad interessiert sich für die nackten Fakten des Zweiten Weltkrieges ungefähr so sehr wie Nerval dafür, seinen Hummer Gassi zu führen. Die Holocaust-Doktrin anzuerkennen, ist für die Achse Tel Aviv / New York ein Zeichen der Unterwerfung, ein Zeichen des neuen Kolonialismus'. Ahmadinedschad weist das zurück, wie auch St. Paul die Noachidischen Gesetze zurückgewiesen hatte: Nicht weil St. Paul an den heidnischen Opfern teilnehmen wollte, vielmehr, weil er es ablehnte, seine Befehle von den Juden entgegenzunehmen.
Die europäischen Führer - die fügsamen Unterstützer von offenkundigen Kriegsverbrechern, von George W. Bush, diesem Mörder unzähliger Afghanen, Iraker und anderer Araber, und von Soul Mofaz, dem Mörder eines acht Jahre alten Mädchens2 (sowie Hunderten anderer), die er letzte Woche im belagerten Gaza tötete - saßen alle stramm und drückten brav ihre Empörung aus. Sie erhoben keine Einsprüche, als Israel im Gazastreifen Wehrlose im Tiefflug angriff. Als israelische Politiker damit drohten, den Iran in eine "radioaktive Wüste" zu verwandeln, haben die Europäer das nicht als einen "Aufruf zum Völkermord" bezeichnet.
Mit seiner Herausforderung bewahrte Präsident Ahmadinedschad die Ehre der Menschheit, wie es nur ein Dichter vermag.
Ich bewundere den Iran für seine Rosengärten, die leuchten wie Karmesin, für seine azurnen alten Moscheen, für die hinreißende Schönheit seiner Frauen, deren schwarze Wimpern die Weiße ihrer Haut hervorheben, die durch den schwarzen Tschador schimmert. Ich bewundere den Iran für seine phantastischen Malereien, die der Verwüstung der Bilderstürmerei entgangen sind. Ich bewundere den Iran für die geistige Subtilität seiner Dichter, die ihre Liebe zu Frauen und ihre Anbetung Gottes in einen untrennbaren Gesang vereinten, gleich dem Hohelied des Salomon. Ihre Rumi und Jami, Sa'di und Ferdousi, Hafiz und Khayyam waren die verwegensten und lautersten, die jemals unsere Erde zierten. Ahmadinedschad ist Erbe dieser Tradition, ein verwegener Spötter unserer Heuchelei; ein Junge, der des Kaisers neue Kleider durchschaut. Wenn auch der schinkenfaustige Yank diesen Wagehals plattwalzen und die Rosengärten von Schiraz verbrennen sollte, wie er einst die Blüten von Nagasaki einäscherte, dürfen wir stolz sein auf Ahmadinedschad, unseren Zeitgenossen, der es wagte, auf den Schwanz des Tigers zu treten.
Die europäische und amerikanische Reaktion auf das Atomprogramm des Iran glich der von Onkel Toms Sklavenhalter Simon Legree, als dieser von dem entkommen Sklaven erfuhr: "Was untersteht sich dieser Dunkelhäutige, des weißen Herrn Spielzeug zu berühren?" Ihr hohles Geschwätz der "iranischen Bedrohung" ist für die Unwissenden vorgesehen: Der Iran hat seit den Kriegen um Anatolien im 5. Jahrhundert nach Christus nie und nimmer eine europäische Nation angegriffen; im Gegensatz dazu haben europäische Imperialisten wiederholt den Iran besetzt und kontrolliert, das letztemal im Jahre 1942. Oder 1953, als sie den demokratisch gewählten Mosaddeq absetzen ließen, um diese uralte Nation weiter beherrschen zu können.
Richtig, der alte Kolonialismus ist tot. Weder kann England den Irak beherrschen noch Frankreich Algerien, doch der neue, kollektive Kolonialismus der Imperialisten, der im Kern von den hochindustrialisierten westlichen Nationen über den Rest der Welt ausgeht, ist kaum besser. Die alten Gebieter haben sich entschlossen, aus ihren Ressourcen und ihrer Macht ein Kartell zu bilden, um gemeinsam über ihre ehemaligen Sklaven zu herrschen. Sie trennten sich vom athenischen Modell, wo ein Bürger einen Sklaven hielt, zugunsten des spartanischen, wo Sklaven allen Spartanern gehören. In diesem neuen, kollektiv-imperialistischen Universum sind die Vereinigten Staaten der Arm, der Vollstrecker dieses neuen Kolonialismus', während die Meinung, die Ideologie, von einem riesigen Konsortium geliefert wird, das die Mehrheit der linken und rechten Druck- und Fernsehmedien - trotz aller vorgetäuschter Rivalität und Konkurrenz - von Madrid bis Moskau und von Texas bis Timbuktu vereinigt und koordiniert.
Dieses Konsortium ist die reale Machtbasis, welche von den beiden amerikanischen Professoren John Mearsheimer (Chicago) und Stephen Walt (Harvard) höflich als die "israelische Lobby in den US" genannt wurde, obwohl dieses Kartell neben dem Staat Israel auch noch andere Fische brät. Und obgleich Mearsheimer und Walt voll zuzustimmen ist - die Professoren haben das Problem eher minimalisiert als übertrieben, denn es ist mehr ein globales als ein lokales (die USA betreffendes) Phänomen. Das furchterregende AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) ist lediglich die Spitze des Eisbergs, worunter Meile an Meile soliden Eises liegen: Medienbarone, Chefredakteure, deren Experten - die Meister des Diskurses. Wie mit einen Zauberstab wurde dies durch die iranische Krise dem nackten Auge überdeutlich: Alle schrieen mit einer Stimme - wie die Legionen von Dämonen in der Synagoge zu Capernaum auf die Worte von Jesus Christus.
In seiner denkwürdigen Rede sagte Ahmadinedschad: "Das gewaltige zionistische Netzwerk ist seit Jahrzehnten im Dienst der Imperialisten." Ob die Zionisten im Dienst der Imperialisten stehen, oder die Imperialisten im Dienst der Zionisten, darüber kann man streiten. Es ist ein Beispiel gemanagter Revolution: Einige behaupten, die Juden waren die Manager der Imperialisten, bis sie selbst die Leitung der Show übernahmen. "Oh nein", sagen die anderen, "sie sind immer noch die Diener ihrer imperialistischen Oberherren." Egal, welche Position wir vertreten, die Zionisten und die Imperialisten sind selbstverständlich miteinander verwoben und integriert, und wenn man die Idee einer iranischen Bedrohung für Israel akzeptiert, billigt man dieses dämonische Netzwerk.
Die Nationen, die sich den Meistern des Diskurses widersetzen, werden per Zwang gebändigt. Die Atomwaffe dient als großer Gleichmacher, wie dazumal das Gewehr von Smith & Wesson im Wilden Westen. Damit nicht zu viel der Gleichmachung passiert, verhüteten amerikanische Pioniere, daß Gewehre in die Hände der Einheimischen fielen. Mit der gleichen Taktik verfährt nun der Westen in seinem Versuch, dem Iran die Atomenergie zu verweigern.
Vor einigen Tagen wurde ich vom russischen Fernsehen Kanal Eins zu einer direkt übertragenen Diskussion eingeladen, wobei der Chef des Moskauer BBC-Büros die rhetorische Frage stellte, warum ein friedvoller Iran ballistische Waffen brauche und dazu eine Aufstellung des iranischen Raketenarsenals gab. Die Frage, warum ein friedvolles Britannien ferngesteuerte und Atomwaffen brauche, konnte er nicht beantworten! Fürwahr, warum braucht diese überhaupt jemand?! Aber wenn England mit seiner langen, blutigen Geschichte, die Dritte Welt zu unterwerfen - angefangen mit Irland bis Japan - dieses Spielzeug haben darf, dann ist es gleichermaßen Pflicht einer jeden größeren Nation, ihre Bevölkerung vor den Launen westlicher Gebieter beschützen zu wollen.
Jawohl, der Iran arbeitet noch immer an einem friedlichen Atomprogramm. Falls und wenn sich das Land jedoch entscheidet, die Bombe zu bauen, sollte diese Entscheidung unterstützt werden, da sie den Frieden fördern würde. Es ist eine Tatsache, daß kaum jemand mehr für die Sache des Weltfriedens getan hat als Julius und Ethel Rosenberg und ihre Mitstreiter Harry Gold und Klaus Fuchs. Diese wunderbaren Männer übergaben die Geheimnisse der von den Amerikanern gebauten nuklearen Waffen an Rußland und retteten dadurch Moskau und St. Petersburg vor dem Schicksal Hiroschimas. Ohne ihre heroische Tat wäre Rußland von den Kolonialherren in eine radioaktive Wüste verwandelt worden. Joseph Stalin gab dieses Wissen an das aufstrebende China weiter, und das war eine sehr gute Tat - die Amerikaner hätten sonst nicht gezögert, Vietnam mit Kernwaffen anzugreifen, wie sie es mit Japan getan hatten.
Das einzige, was Gorbatschow und Jelzin im Zuge ihrer Abwicklung der Sowjetunion nicht zerstört haben, ist Rußlands Atomschutzschild, weil sie vermutlich nicht erwarteten, daß jemals wieder patriotische Kräfte in Moskau an die Macht kommen könnten. Dieses Schutzschild gewährt den Russen, die Nörgelei einer Frau Merkel außer acht zu lassen, und gibt ihnen die freie Wahl: ihr Öl und Gas an Europa zu verkaufen oder den Strom nach China zu leiten. Und es gewährt den Weißrussen, den Präsidenten ihrer Wahl zu haben, den sie mit großer Stimmenmehrheit wählten. Ohne jenes Schutzschild würde Lukaschenko wegen seiner unbeugsamen Weigerung, Vermögenswerte von Weißrußland an George Soros zu verkaufen, das Schicksal Noriegas und Milosevics ereilen.
Also gewährt auch den Iranern diese freie Wahl und stellt wieder Gleichgewicht in der Region her.
Und zu den aufrichtigen Gönnern unseres israelischen Wohls sage ich: Der Iran ist keine Gefahr. Die Wahrheit ist, die Juden könnten außerordentlich gut in Palästina leben. Hätten wir 1948 mit der einheimischen Bevölkerung Frieden geschlossen, hätten wir unser gemeinsames Haus Palästina als die Nabe des Nahen Ostens behalten: wo Öl aus dem Irak in die Raffinerien nach Haifa fließt. Wo Züge aus Bagdad auf der Fahrt nach Kairo an Lydda und Jaffa vorbeiflitzen. Wo mohammedanische Pilger auf dem Wege nach Mekka an Al-Quds vorbeikommen. Wo Christen von Bethlehem nach Nazareth auf den Spuren Christi wallfahren, und wo Juden ihre aliya machen (dieses Wort bedeutete, wie die Hadsch, eine jährliche Wallfahrt nach Jerusalem und nicht, wie die Zionisten meinten, die permanente Immigration nach Palästina). Laut dem Versprechen der Propheten würden wir über unsere tollsten Träume hinaus gedeihen, könnten wir nur diese böse, alte Gewohnheit der Auserwähltheit und Vorherrschaft ablegen.
Sogar jetzt ist es nicht zu spät, nach 60 Jahren und vielen Toten. Aus diesem Grund sollten wir Ahmadinedschads Rat annehmen: Laßt uns den exklusiv jüdischen Staat von der Landkarte dieser Region entfernen, und ersetzen wir ihn mit einem Staat für alle Bürger des Landes, Juden oder nicht. "Das Recht zu regieren gehört allen Menschen Palästinas, seien sie Muslime, Christen oder Juden", sagte Ahmadinedschad, und bei Gott!, nur ein jüdischer Suprematist würde gegen seine Worte Einspruch erheben.
Als ich diese Aussage während der Moskauer Fernsehsendung machte, wurde ich vom Vorsitzenden des Russisch-Jüdischen Kongresses und Direktor eines zionistischen Nahost-Instituts angegriffen, einem schmierigen und fleckigen, brutalen Kerl mit überhängendem Wanst, eine lebendige Karikatur aus dem Stürmer mit dem dazu passenden Namen Satansovsky. "Paß bloß auf", sagte mir Satansovsky nach der Show, "scheinbar bist du noch nie ordentlich verdroschen worden. Hier in Moskau haben wir keine demokratischen Bedenken; meine jüdischen Kumpels werden dir die Eier schleifen, wie sie es schon mit einigen Typen wie dir getan haben. Israel soll auf ewig ein jüdischer Staat bleiben!"
Solche jüdischen Mafiosi sind die wahren Führer der jüdischen Lobby und die hauptsächlichen Verfechter des jüdischen Staates im Ausland. Diese Spezies leiten die jüdischen Organisationen in Rußland, in Amerika und anderswo. Sie brauchen einen jüdischen Staat, um in der Stunde des Zorns aus ihren Ländern flüchten zu können, aber wir, die normalen Bürger Israels, brauchen dies nicht.
Indessen, die Mafia kann nicht ewig herrschen. Ich beherzige die Worte Ahmadinedschads: "Der junge Baum des Widerstands grünt und blüht im Glauben und Verlangen nach Freiheit. Das zionistische Regime ist ein verfaulender und zerbröckelnder Baum, der mit einem Sturm fallen wird. [Erinnert Ihr Euch an das Gleichnis des dürren Baumes? - I.S.] Palästina ist der Treffpunkt von Recht und Unrecht. Das Schicksal der Region wird im Land Al-Quds entschieden, und es wird eine große Ehre sein, am Sieg Palästinas teilhaben zu dürfen."
Der Sieg Palästinas ist unser Sieg, und wir werden glücklich sein, daran teilhaben zu dürfen.
"Sag, wird es Krieg geben?", wird man oft gefragt. Ich besitze nicht das Vertrauen von George Bush, er teilt mir seine Pläne nicht mit. Während jedoch die Torhüter der Linken sagen, Öl sei der Grund für Krieg, bin ich der Meinung, Öl kann der Grund für Frieden sein. Nun, da der Preis für Öl die 70-Dollar-Schwelle überschritten hat, muß Präsident Bush entscheiden, ob er die Erhöhung von über 120 Dollar überstehen wird - ob seine Wähler freudestrahlend den Rat eines Experten vom American Jewish Congress, Eran Lerman (ehemaliger israelischer Agent), akzeptieren und dann ihre Wagen nur alle zwei Tage fahren. Bush hat die Macht, die USA von ihrem gefährlichen Kurs wegzusteuern, und kann dem jüdischen Kongreß sagen, sich davonzumachen.
Und an meine israelischen Landsleute: Erinnert euch an unsere seit langen Zeiten währende Freundschaft mit dem Iran. Vor zweitausend Jahren wurde ein Bild der iranischen Hauptstadt Susa am östlichen Portal des jüdischen Tempels in Jerusalem dargestellt. Die Mischna (Berakoth 9) gebot ihm gegenüber ganz besondere Vorsicht: "Zeige niemals Respektlosigkeit angesichts des Ostportals!" Laut Rambam wurde diese Ermahnung erteilt, um Furcht vor dem persischen König einzuflößen. Diese Tradition sollte in Erinnerung behalten und erhalten bleiben.

New Israel Spy Satellite Beams First Images

An Israeli satellite that can reportedly spy closely on Iran's nuclear programme has sent back its first "high quality" pictures since its launch into space, public radio reported Friday. Photographs from the D3 Eros B1 satellite with a 70-centimetre (28-inch inch) resolution were taken in orbit, 500 kilometres (310 miles) from earth and were transitted to the control room of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI).
The first pictures were taken over Europe and did not therefore feature installations in Iran, the radio reported.
Israel's satellite was launched from a military space launch site in Russia on Tuesday and circumnavigates earth every 90 minutes. Israel considers the Islamic regime in Tehran its chief public enemy and has led international efforts to see Iran slapped with economic sanctions for its alleged nuclear weapons programme. Security fears have been heightened in Israel by menacing comments from Iran's hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has dismissed the Holocaust as a "myth" and has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map".

Russia Launches Israeli Satellite To Help Spy On Iran

Israel put a new observation satellite into service from Russia on Tuesday which will increase the levels of surveillance of Iran's nuclear programme. The satellite was launched from a military space launch site in Russia's far eastern Amur region aboard a Topol solid-fuel rocket booster, the ITAR-TASS news agency said, quoting a spokesman for the facility, Alexei Kuznetsov. In a brief item posted on its website, the Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot quoted an unnamed defence official as saying the satellite would be used to spy on Iran's nuclear activities. ITAR-TASS said the satellite is fitted with a powerful camera "which will permit Israeli intelligence to observe important Iranian targets in the most minute detail." The D33 Eros B1 satellite was successfully placed into orbit about 20 minutes after its launch, the agency said. The satellite was launched by ImageSat, a company that is part-owned by state-run Israel Aircraft Industries. ImageSat said the 280 kilogramme (616 pound) satellite is able to spot objects of no more than 70 centimeters (28 inches) long. "As soon as this satellite goes into orbit, it will place us in the major leagues of countries with photography satellites," ImageSat director general Shimon Eckhaus told Yediot Aharonot. The Eros B is an upgraded versions of the Eros A satellite which is already in operation. Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz hailed the successful satellite launch as "a great achievement of the defence establishment, the defence industries and Israel." "The satellite activity will increase Israel's ability to collect high-quality intelligence at great distances from Israel's borders," he said in a statement. "Israel has shown that it relies first and foremost on itself for protecting its citizens," he said. Israeli Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said this week that Iran represented an existential threat to the survival of the Jewish state. Although Tehran insists its programme is only designed to meet energy needs, Israel is convinced that the real intention is to develop the bomb. Israel itself is believed to be the only state in the Middle East to possess a nuclear arsenal, something that it refuses to confirm or deny.

IAEA Finds no Proof of Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program

04/29/06 "ICH' -- -- In its April 28 report, the International Atomic Energy Agency mentioned the UNSC mandate to Iran of last February:
' • re-establish full and sustained suspension of all enrichment related and reprocessing activities,
including research and development, to be verified by the Agency;
• reconsider the construction of a research reactor moderated by heavy water;
• ratify promptly and implement in full the Additional Protocol;
• pending ratification, continue to act in accordance with the provisions of the Additional
Protocol which Iran signed on 18 December 2003;
• implement transparency measures, as requested by the Director General, including in GOV/2005/67, which extend beyond the formal requirements of the Safeguards Agreement and Additional Protocol, and include such access to individuals, documentation relating to procurement, dual use equipment, certain military-owned workshops and research and development as the Agency may request in support of its ongoing investigations. Despite not being fully in compliance with these demands, Iran maintains that it is in fact fulfilling its obligations under the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty. The IAEA found no smoking gun.
Here is its conclusion, which others will not quote for you at such length:
33. All the nuclear material declared by Iran to the Agency is accounted for. Apart from the small quantities previously reported to the Board, the Agency has found no other undeclared nuclear material in Iran. However, gaps remain in the Agency’s knowledge with respect to the scope and content of Iran’s centrifuge programme. Because of this, and other gaps in the Agency’s knowledge, including the role of the military in Iran’s nuclear programme, the Agency is unable to make progress in its efforts to provide assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran.
34. After more than three years of Agency efforts to seek clarity about all aspects of Iran’s nuclear programme, the existing gaps in knowledge continue to be a matter of concern. This ambiguity is being twisted by the Bush administration to make it seem as though Iran has done something illegal. The report can be read to say that there is no evidence that Iran is doing anything illegal. In fact, under the NPT, countries do have the right to do the sort of experiments Iran is doing. Most of the complaints are not about substance but about something else. Iran's president pledged to continue to cooperate with UN isnspectors. More about Iran later. Lobster for Iran

"Iran's biggest threat since Nazis," said Israeli defence minister Shaul Mofaz, according to the Guardian; "The world must not wait! Since Hitler we Jews have not faced such a threat" as presented by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who "further stirred international outrage by calling on Israeli Jews to be resettled in Europe" (...thus the Guardian).
These guys are hard to please! In the 1930s, Hitler called for the Jews to be resettled outside of Europe, and they declared war on him. Now Ahmadinejad calls for the resettlement of Jews in Europe, and the Jews still respond with a war cry. That is, unless the Guardian missed the point in its report, and the outrage actually came from the Europeans who preferred the Palestinians to serve as unwilling host to these difficult guests.
Anyway I beg to differ: President Ahmadinejad is the biggest threat since Gerard de Nerval, a flamboyant French poet, promenaded a lobster on a blue ribbon lead, just as one exercises a dog, along the Palais Royal gardens in order to épater le bourgeois. A truly poetic soul, an enfant terrible if ever there was one, Ahmadinejad aimed to wake us up from our over-long after-dinner nap. What can the Iranian do if 'Jews' is the only magic word that awakens us from this slumber? Sexual innuendos would not bestir even a child fresh from his AIDS-awareness lesson. An attack of Christianity would be warmly applauded by the undeniable masters of European minds, Messrs Sauerkraut and Finkelrot. In this post-modernist age, when the Vagina Monologues have entered the matinee repertoire, it is not that easy to épater the increasingly blasé bourgeoisie. If Ahmadinejad would call for the resettlement of six million European Muslims outside of Europe, nobody would raise an eyebrow with the possible exception of Oriana Fallaci and M. Le Pen, who might object to his plagiarism. If he were to call for the erasure of France from the world map, the French would not sit up and pay attention: they think there is already a Brussels directive to this effect!
I admire Ahmadinejad. Not as a politician: let the Iranians judge him on this merit. Not as a divine: I leave this to the Muslims. But as a true poet who unveiled our hypocrisy and slaughtered our last sacred cow. This is the only possible explanation of his deeds and words: Iranians have really no reason to care about the Jewish holocaust, one way or other. Nobody accuses them, not even Mr Yehuda Bauer of Jerusalem's Holocaust memorial institute, who is prone to accuse the World and its niece for failing to save the Jews. The Persians from Cyrus to Hosroes to Mohammad Resa Shah were always good to Jews, and even in these mad days there is a large and flourishing Jewish community in Iran. Ahmadinejad spoke about the Holocaust like Hillary conquered Everest ˆ because it presented a challenge!
The innocent revisionist historians were so excited when he toyed with an idea of "finally discovering the truth". They prepared their well-thumbed books and diagrams of gas consumption and body heat. But Ahmadinejad is interested in the hard facts of World War II about as much as Nerval was interested in exercising his lobster. Acceptance of Holocaust dogma is a sign of submission to the Tel AvivˆNew York Axis, a sign of the new colonialism. Ahmadinejad refused it just as St Paul refused to accept the Noahide laws: not because St Paul wanted to partake of pagan sacrifices, but because he did not want to take his orders from the Jews.
The European leaders, the docile supporters of patent war criminals, of George W. Bush, the murderer of umpteen Iraqis, Afghanis and sundry Arabs, of Shaul Mofaz, the murderer of an eight-year-old girl (among hundreds of others) he killed last week in besieged Gaza, all sat up and expressed their outrage. They did not object when Israel strafed and bombed defenceless Gazans. When Israeli politicians threatened to turn Iran into "radioactive desert", they did not describe it as "a call to genocide". By his challenge, president Ahmadinejad saved the honour of human race, as only a poet can do.
I admire Iran, for the fiery crimson of their rose gardens and for the azure of its old mosques, for the ravishing beauty of its women, whose black eyelashes enhance the whiteness of their skin shining through their black chadors. I admire Iran for its marvellous painting that overcame the iconoclastic ravages. I admire Iran for the spiritual subtlety of its poets, who united their love to women with their adoration of God in one undivided chant just as the Song of Songs did. Their Rumi and Jami, Sa'adi and Ferdousi, Hafiz and Khayyam were of the most daring and sincere poets who ever graced our earth. Ahmadinejad is heir to their tradition, a daring mocker of our hypocrisy, a boy who saw through the emperor's new clothes. Even if the ham-fisted Yank should flatten this daredevil, and burn the rose gardens of Shiraz just as he once incinerated the blossoms of Nagasaki, we may be proud of Ahmadinejad, our contemporary who dared to tread on the tiger's tail.

The European and American reaction to Iran's nuclear program was that of Uncle Tom's slaveowner, Simon Legree, on learning of an escaped slave. How does this dusky dare to touch the white masters' toys? Their empty talk of an "Iranian threat" is designed for the ignorant: Iran has never, ever attacked a European nation since the wars for Anatolia in the 5th century BC; whereas European imperialists have repeatedly occupied and controlled Iran, most recently in 1942, or by proxy in 1953, when they deposed democratically-elected Mosaddeq and returned to dominate this ancient nation.
Yes, the old colonialism is dead. England can't rule over Iraq, nor France over Algeria, but the new collective colonialism, that of the imperialist Core of highly industrialised Western nations over the rest of the world, is hardly any better. The old masters have decided to pool their resources and powers to rule their erstwhile slaves together. They switched from the Athenian model where a citizen had his slave, to the Spartan model, where slaves belong to all Spartans. In this new collective imperialist universe, the US is the arm, the enforcer of this new colonialism, while the mind, the ideology is supplied by a vast syndicate that unites and coordinates the majority of newspapers and networks of both left and right from Madrid to Moscow and from Texas to Timbuktu, despite their pretensions of competition and rivalry.
This syndicate is the real powerbase of what two American professors, John Mearsheimer of Chicago, and Stephen Walt of Harvard, (M&W for short) politely called 'Israel Lobby in the US', though this syndicate has other fish to fry beside that of the State of Israel's. While fully approving of M&W's endeavour, we should say: they minimised rather than exaggerated the problem, for it is a global, rather than a local (the US) phenomenon. The fearsome AIPAC is just the visible tip of iceberg below which are miles and miles of solid ice: media lords, chief editors, their pundits, Masters of Discourse, in short. As if by a magic wand, the Iranian crisis made it visible to the naked eye: they have all cried out in one mighty voice like the legion of demons in the Capernaum synagogue in response to Christ's words.
In his thought-provoking speech Ahmadinejad said: "The vast Zionist network has been at the service of the imperialists for decades." This is open to an argument whether the Zionist network serves the imperialists, or the imperialists serve this network. It's an example of Managerial Revolution: Jews were managers for the imperialists, until they took over the show, some would say. Oh no, they remained docile to their imperialist overlords, argue others. Whatever position we take, the Zionists and the Imperialists are surely integrated and intermeshed, and if one accepts the idea of the Iranian threat to Israel, one subscribes to this demonic network.
The nations that refuse the Masters of Discourse are subjugated by force. A nuclear weapon serves as a great equaliser, as did the Smith & Wesson gun in the Wild West. In order to prevent too much equalisation, the American pioneers kept guns out of native hands. The same policy now drives the West in its attempts to keep nuclear power out of reach of Iranians.
A few days ago I was invited to a live discussion on Russian TV Channel One, where the Moscow BBC bureau chief rhetorically asked why a peaceful Iran would need ballistic missiles, and he listed the Iranian missile arsenal. He could not answer the question of why a peaceful Britain would need ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons! Actually, why would anybody need one? But if England, with its long and bloody history of subjugating the Third World from Ireland to Japan, may have these toys, then it is likewise the duty of any important country willing to protect its populace from the Western masters' whims.
Yes, Iran is still working on a peaceful program of atomic energy, but if and when that country decides to build the bomb, we may support this decision, as it would enhance peace. Actually, few people did more for the cause of world peace than Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and their associates Harry Gold and Klaus Fuchs. These wonderful men passed the secrets of American-built nuclear weapons to Russia, and thus saved Moscow and St Petersburg from the fate of Hiroshima. Without their heroic deed, the colonial masters would have turned Russia into a radioactive desert. Joseph Stalin passed the know-how to emerging China, and this was a very good deed -- otherwise the Americans wouldn't have hesitated to nuke Vietnam as they did Japan.
The Russian nuclear shield is the only thing Gorbachev and Yeltsin did not break down in their destruction of the Soviet Union, probably because they did not expect the patriotic forces to ever return to power in Moscow. This shield allows the Russians to disregard the nagging of Frau Merkel, and gives them their freedom of choice: to sell their oil and gas to Europe or to turn the stream towards China. It allows the Belarus people to have the president they elected by huge majority: without it, Lukashenka would share the fate of Noriega and Milosevic for his steadfast refusal to sell the assets of Belarus to George Soros. Let Iranians, too, have this freedom of choice, and restore balance in the region.
And to sincere well-wishers of our Israeli well-being I'll say: Iran is no danger. The truth is, the Jews could live extremely well in Palestine. By making peace with the native inhabitants in 1948, we would have kept our common home, Palestine, as the hub of the Middle East with Iraqi oil coming to Haifa refineries and trains from Baghdad to Cairo flying by Lydda and Jaffa, with Muslim pilgrims coming to al Quds on their way to Mecca, with Christians walking in the footsteps of Christ from Bethlehem to Nazareth and with Jews doing their aliya (this word meant an annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem like the Hajj, rather than a permanent immigration to Palestine as Zionists wont). We would prosper beyond our wildest dreams, as the prophets promised, if we were to kick the nasty old habit of separateness and dominance.
It is not too late even now, sixty years and many deaths later. For this purpose, we may take the advice of Ahmadinejad: let the exclusive Jewish state be eliminated from the map of the region to be replaced by one state of all citizens of the land, Jews or not. "The right to govern belongs to all people of Palestine, be they Muslims, Christians, or Jews", said Ahmadinejad, and by golly, only a Jewish supremacist may object to his words.
When I said this at the TV discussion in Moscow, I was attacked by the Chairman of a Russian Jewish Congress and Director of a Zionist Middle East Institute, a greasy and spotty bully of a man with hanging belly, a living cartoon from Der Sturmer, with the fitting name Satanovsky. "Watch out, - told me Satanovsky after the show, - apparently you have never been beaten hard enough. Here in Moscow we know of no restraints of democracy, my Jewish lads will tear your balls off like they did to many men like you. Israel should remain a Jewish state forever". Such Jewish Mafiosi are the real leaders of the Jewish Lobby and chief supporters of the Jewish state abroad. These sort of people lead the Jewish organisations in Russia, in America and elsewhere. They need a Jewish state to escape their lands in the hour of wrath, but we, the ordinary citizens of Israel, do not need it.
However, the Mafia can't rule forever. I take heart in the words of Ahmadinejad: "The young tree of resistance in Palestine is blooming and blooms of faith and desire for freedom are flowering. The Zionist regime is a decaying and crumbling tree that will fall with a storm. (Remember the parable of the barren tree? - ISH) Palestine is the meeting point of right and wrong. The destiny of the region will be decided in the land of Al-Qods and it will be a great honour to share in the victory of Palestine." The victory of Palestine is our victory and we shall be happy to share in it.
"Now, will there be a war?," one is often asked. I have no full confidence of George Bush, he does not share his plans with me. But while the gatekeepers of the Left say that Oil is the reason for the war, in my view Oil can be the reason for peace. As the price of oil has now crossed the $70 threshold, President Bush must decide whether he will survive its hike above $120 -- whether his voters in the red states will happily accept the advice of an American Jewish Congress pundit and director of their Israel/Middle East Office Eran Lerman (previously of Israeli intelligence) to stop driving cars every other day. Bush has the power to steer the US away from its perilous course, and tell to the Jewish Congress pundits to shove it.
And to my Israeli countrymen: I'll remind you of our age-long tradition of friendship with Iran. Two thousand years ago, a picture of the Iranian capital city Susa was presented on the Eastern gate of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Mishna (Berakoth 9) called for being especially careful towards it: "never show disrespect to the Eastern gate!" According to Rambam, this was done so that they would have the fear of the king of Persia upon them. This tradition is worth remembering and carefully preserving.

"Der Iran ist die größte Gefahr seit den Nazis", sagte Israels Außenminister Shaul Mofaz laut The Guardian1. "Die Welt darf nicht warten! Seit Hitler standen wir Juden keiner gleichartigen Bedrohung gegenüber", wie sie Mahmoud Ahmadinedschad darstellt, der "die internationale Empörung weiter anheizte, als er israelische Juden aufforderte, nach Europa umzusiedeln."
Man kann es ihnen nicht recht machen! In den 30er Jahren verlangte Hitler, daß sich die Juden außerhalb Europas ansiedeln, und diese erklärten ihm den Krieg. Jetzt fordert Ahmadinedschad, daß sich die Juden wieder in Europa ansiedeln, und wieder reagieren die Juden mit Kriegsgeschrei. Oder aber der Guardian hat die Sache in seiner Reportage verwechselt, und die Empörung kam tatsächlich von den Europäern, die lieber die Palästinenser als unwillige Gastgeber für diese schwierigen Gäste haben wollen.
Wie dem auch sei, ich bin anderer Meinung: Präsident Ahmadinedschad verkörpert die größte Bedrohung seit Gerard de Nerval, ein extravaganter französischer Dichter, der einen Hummer gleich einem Hündchen an einer blauen Kordel im königlichen Garten spazieren führte, um das wohlhabende Bürgertum zu verblüffen. Eine wahrlich poetische Seele, ein unbezähmbares Kind, wenn es je ein solches gab. Ahmadinedschad zielt darauf, uns aus unserem überlangen Mittagsschlaf zu wecken. Was soll der Iraner denn anstellen, wenn das Wort "Jude" das einzig magische Wort ist, das uns aus diesem Schlummer aufrührt? Sexuelle Anzüglichkeiten könnten noch nicht mal ein Kind, jüngst aus einem AIDS-Seminar entlassen, aufwühlen. Ein Angriff auf das Christentum würde wärmstens von den nicht zu verleugnenden Gebietern europäischer Geisteshaltung, den Herren Sauer- und Finkelkraut, begrüßt werden. In dieser post-modernistischen Ära, in der sich Vagina-Monologe in das Repertoire von Matineen Eintritt verschafften, ist es immerhin nicht einfach, das zunehmend blasierte Bürgertum zu verblüffen.
Wenn Ahmadinedschad die Umsiedlung von sechs Millionen europäischen Muslimen außerhalb Europas vorschlüge, würde niemand auch nur mit der Wimper zucken, ausgenommen vielleicht Oriana Fallici und Monsieur Le Pen, die möglicherweise etwas gegen dieses Plagiat einzuwenden hätten. Forderte er die Ausradierung Frankreichs von der Landkarte, würden sich die Franzosen nicht aus ihren Sitzen erheben, glauben sie doch, daß dafür schon eine Direktive aus Brüssel vorliegt! Ich bewundere Ahmadinedschad: nicht als Politiker: Dafür sollen ihn die Iraner beurteilen. Nicht als Theologe: Das überlasse ich den Muslimen. Jedoch als einen wahren Dichter, der unsere Heuchelei entlarvt und unsere letzte heilige Kuh schlachtet. Die einzig mögliche Erklärung seiner Worte und Taten ist: Iraner haben tatsächlich keinen nennenswerten Grund, sich um den jüdischen Holocaust zu kümmern. Niemand klagt sie an deswegen, noch nicht einmal Herr Yehuda Bauer von der Jerusalemer Holocaust-Gedenkstätte, der dazu neigt, die Welt und ihre Nichte dafür anzuklagen, daß sie die Juden nicht gerettet haben. Die Perser von Cyrus bis Hosroes und Schah Mohammad Reza Pahlevi waren stets gut zu den Juden, und noch immer, auch noch jetzt in diesen verrückten Tagen, gibt es im Iran eine große und blühende jüdische Gemeinde. Ahmadinedschad sprach über den Holocaust, so wie Hillary einst den Everest eroberte: als eine Herausforderung!
Die arglosen Revisionisten waren richtig aufgeregt, als er mit der Idee spielte, "endlich die Wahrheit aufzudecken". Sie bereiteten ihre gut durchblätterten Bücher und Diagramme über Gasverbrauch und Körperwärme vor. Doch Ahmadinedschad interessiert sich für die nackten Fakten des Zweiten Weltkrieges ungefähr so sehr wie Nerval dafür, seinen Hummer Gassi zu führen. Die Holocaust-Doktrin anzuerkennen, ist für die Achse Tel Aviv / New York ein Zeichen der Unterwerfung, ein Zeichen des neuen Kolonialismus'. Ahmadinedschad weist das zurück, wie auch St. Paul die Noachidischen Gesetze zurückgewiesen hatte: Nicht weil St. Paul an den heidnischen Opfern teilnehmen wollte, vielmehr, weil er es ablehnte, seine Befehle von den Juden entgegenzunehmen.
Die europäischen Führer - die fügsamen Unterstützer von offenkundigen Kriegsverbrechern, von George W. Bush, diesem Mörder unzähliger Afghanen, Iraker und anderer Araber, und von Soul Mofaz, dem Mörder eines acht Jahre alten Mädchens2 (sowie Hunderten anderer), die er letzte Woche im belagerten Gaza tötete - saßen alle stramm und drückten brav ihre Empörung aus. Sie erhoben keine Einsprüche, als Israel im Gazastreifen Wehrlose im Tiefflug angriff. Als israelische Politiker damit drohten, den Iran in eine "radioaktive Wüste" zu verwandeln, haben die Europäer das nicht als einen "Aufruf zum Völkermord" bezeichnet.
Mit seiner Herausforderung bewahrte Präsident Ahmadinedschad die Ehre der Menschheit, wie es nur ein Dichter vermag.
Ich bewundere den Iran für seine Rosengärten, die leuchten wie Karmesin, für seine azurnen alten Moscheen, für die hinreißende Schönheit seiner Frauen, deren schwarze Wimpern die Weiße ihrer Haut hervorheben, die durch den schwarzen Tschador schimmert. Ich bewundere den Iran für seine phantastischen Malereien, die der Verwüstung der Bilderstürmerei entgangen sind. Ich bewundere den Iran für die geistige Subtilität seiner Dichter, die ihre Liebe zu Frauen und ihre Anbetung Gottes in einen untrennbaren Gesang vereinten, gleich dem Hohelied des Salomon. Ihre Rumi und Jami, Sa'di und Ferdousi, Hafiz und Khayyam waren die verwegensten und lautersten, die jemals unsere Erde zierten. Ahmadinedschad ist Erbe dieser Tradition, ein verwegener Spötter unserer Heuchelei; ein Junge, der des Kaisers neue Kleider durchschaut. Wenn auch der schinkenfaustige Yank diesen Wagehals plattwalzen und die Rosengärten von Schiraz verbrennen sollte, wie er einst die Blüten von Nagasaki einäscherte, dürfen wir stolz sein auf Ahmadinedschad, unseren Zeitgenossen, der es wagte, auf den Schwanz des Tigers zu treten.
Die europäische und amerikanische Reaktion auf das Atomprogramm des Iran glich der von Onkel Toms Sklavenhalter Simon Legree, als dieser von dem entkommen Sklaven erfuhr: "Was untersteht sich dieser Dunkelhäutige, des weißen Herrn Spielzeug zu berühren?" Ihr hohles Geschwätz der "iranischen Bedrohung" ist für die Unwissenden vorgesehen: Der Iran hat seit den Kriegen um Anatolien im 5. Jahrhundert nach Christus nie und nimmer eine europäische Nation angegriffen; im Gegensatz dazu haben europäische Imperialisten wiederholt den Iran besetzt und kontrolliert, das letztemal im Jahre 1942. Oder 1953, als sie den demokratisch gewählten Mosaddeq absetzen ließen, um diese uralte Nation weiter beherrschen zu können.
Richtig, der alte Kolonialismus ist tot. Weder kann England den Irak beherrschen noch Frankreich Algerien, doch der neue, kollektive Kolonialismus der Imperialisten, der im Kern von den hochindustrialisierten westlichen Nationen über den Rest der Welt ausgeht, ist kaum besser. Die alten Gebieter haben sich entschlossen, aus ihren Ressourcen und ihrer Macht ein Kartell zu bilden, um gemeinsam über ihre ehemaligen Sklaven zu herrschen. Sie trennten sich vom athenischen Modell, wo ein Bürger einen Sklaven hielt, zugunsten des spartanischen, wo Sklaven allen Spartanern gehören. In diesem neuen, kollektiv-imperialistischen Universum sind die Vereinigten Staaten der Arm, der Vollstrecker dieses neuen Kolonialismus', während die Meinung, die Ideologie, von einem riesigen Konsortium geliefert wird, das die Mehrheit der linken und rechten Druck- und Fernsehmedien - trotz aller vorgetäuschter Rivalität und Konkurrenz - von Madrid bis Moskau und von Texas bis Timbuktu vereinigt und koordiniert.
Dieses Konsortium ist die reale Machtbasis, welche von den beiden amerikanischen Professoren John Mearsheimer (Chicago) und Stephen Walt (Harvard) höflich als die "israelische Lobby in den US" genannt wurde, obwohl dieses Kartell neben dem Staat Israel auch noch andere Fische brät. Und obgleich Mearsheimer und Walt voll zuzustimmen ist - die Professoren haben das Problem eher minimalisiert als übertrieben, denn es ist mehr ein globales als ein lokales (die USA betreffendes) Phänomen. Das furchterregende AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) ist lediglich die Spitze des Eisbergs, worunter Meile an Meile soliden Eises liegen: Medienbarone, Chefredakteure, deren Experten - die Meister des Diskurses. Wie mit einen Zauberstab wurde dies durch die iranische Krise dem nackten Auge überdeutlich: Alle schrieen mit einer Stimme - wie die Legionen von Dämonen in der Synagoge zu Capernaum auf die Worte von Jesus Christus.
In seiner denkwürdigen Rede sagte Ahmadinedschad: "Das gewaltige zionistische Netzwerk ist seit Jahrzehnten im Dienst der Imperialisten." Ob die Zionisten im Dienst der Imperialisten stehen, oder die Imperialisten im Dienst der Zionisten, darüber kann man streiten. Es ist ein Beispiel gemanagter Revolution: Einige behaupten, die Juden waren die Manager der Imperialisten, bis sie selbst die Leitung der Show übernahmen. "Oh nein", sagen die anderen, "sie sind immer noch die Diener ihrer imperialistischen Oberherren." Egal, welche Position wir vertreten, die Zionisten und die Imperialisten sind selbstverständlich miteinander verwoben und integriert, und wenn man die Idee einer iranischen Bedrohung für Israel akzeptiert, billigt man dieses dämonische Netzwerk.
Die Nationen, die sich den Meistern des Diskurses widersetzen, werden per Zwang gebändigt. Die Atomwaffe dient als großer Gleichmacher, wie dazumal das Gewehr von Smith & Wesson im Wilden Westen. Damit nicht zu viel der Gleichmachung passiert, verhüteten amerikanische Pioniere, daß Gewehre in die Hände der Einheimischen fielen. Mit der gleichen Taktik verfährt nun der Westen in seinem Versuch, dem Iran die Atomenergie zu verweigern.
Vor einigen Tagen wurde ich vom russischen Fernsehen Kanal Eins zu einer direkt übertragenen Diskussion eingeladen, wobei der Chef des Moskauer BBC-Büros die rhetorische Frage stellte, warum ein friedvoller Iran ballistische Waffen brauche und dazu eine Aufstellung des iranischen Raketenarsenals gab. Die Frage, warum ein friedvolles Britannien ferngesteuerte und Atomwaffen brauche, konnte er nicht beantworten! Fürwahr, warum braucht diese überhaupt jemand?! Aber wenn England mit seiner langen, blutigen Geschichte, die Dritte Welt zu unterwerfen - angefangen mit Irland bis Japan - dieses Spielzeug haben darf, dann ist es gleichermaßen Pflicht einer jeden größeren Nation, ihre Bevölkerung vor den Launen westlicher Gebieter beschützen zu wollen.
Jawohl, der Iran arbeitet noch immer an einem friedlichen Atomprogramm. Falls und wenn sich das Land jedoch entscheidet, die Bombe zu bauen, sollte diese Entscheidung unterstützt werden, da sie den Frieden fördern würde. Es ist eine Tatsache, daß kaum jemand mehr für die Sache des Weltfriedens getan hat als Julius und Ethel Rosenberg und ihre Mitstreiter Harry Gold und Klaus Fuchs. Diese wunderbaren Männer übergaben die Geheimnisse der von den Amerikanern gebauten nuklearen Waffen an Rußland und retteten dadurch Moskau und St. Petersburg vor dem Schicksal Hiroschimas. Ohne ihre heroische Tat wäre Rußland von den Kolonialherren in eine radioaktive Wüste verwandelt worden. Joseph Stalin gab dieses Wissen an das aufstrebende China weiter, und das war eine sehr gute Tat - die Amerikaner hätten sonst nicht gezögert, Vietnam mit Kernwaffen anzugreifen, wie sie es mit Japan getan hatten.
Das einzige, was Gorbatschow und Jelzin im Zuge ihrer Abwicklung der Sowjetunion nicht zerstört haben, ist Rußlands Atomschutzschild, weil sie vermutlich nicht erwarteten, daß jemals wieder patriotische Kräfte in Moskau an die Macht kommen könnten. Dieses Schutzschild gewährt den Russen, die Nörgelei einer Frau Merkel außer acht zu lassen, und gibt ihnen die freie Wahl: ihr Öl und Gas an Europa zu verkaufen oder den Strom nach China zu leiten. Und es gewährt den Weißrussen, den Präsidenten ihrer Wahl zu haben, den sie mit großer Stimmenmehrheit wählten. Ohne jenes Schutzschild würde Lukaschenko wegen seiner unbeugsamen Weigerung, Vermögenswerte von Weißrußland an George Soros zu verkaufen, das Schicksal Noriegas und Milosevics ereilen.
Also gewährt auch den Iranern diese freie Wahl und stellt wieder Gleichgewicht in der Region her.
Und zu den aufrichtigen Gönnern unseres israelischen Wohls sage ich: Der Iran ist keine Gefahr. Die Wahrheit ist, die Juden könnten außerordentlich gut in Palästina leben. Hätten wir 1948 mit der einheimischen Bevölkerung Frieden geschlossen, hätten wir unser gemeinsames Haus Palästina als die Nabe des Nahen Ostens behalten: wo Öl aus dem Irak in die Raffinerien nach Haifa fließt. Wo Züge aus Bagdad auf der Fahrt nach Kairo an Lydda und Jaffa vorbeiflitzen. Wo mohammedanische Pilger auf dem Wege nach Mekka an Al-Quds vorbeikommen. Wo Christen von Bethlehem nach Nazareth auf den Spuren Christi wallfahren, und wo Juden ihre aliya machen (dieses Wort bedeutete, wie die Hadsch, eine jährliche Wallfahrt nach Jerusalem und nicht, wie die Zionisten meinten, die permanente Immigration nach Palästina). Laut dem Versprechen der Propheten würden wir über unsere tollsten Träume hinaus gedeihen, könnten wir nur diese böse, alte Gewohnheit der Auserwähltheit und Vorherrschaft ablegen.
Sogar jetzt ist es nicht zu spät, nach 60 Jahren und vielen Toten. Aus diesem Grund sollten wir Ahmadinedschads Rat annehmen: Laßt uns den exklusiv jüdischen Staat von der Landkarte dieser Region entfernen, und ersetzen wir ihn mit einem Staat für alle Bürger des Landes, Juden oder nicht. "Das Recht zu regieren gehört allen Menschen Palästinas, seien sie Muslime, Christen oder Juden", sagte Ahmadinedschad, und bei Gott!, nur ein jüdischer Suprematist würde gegen seine Worte Einspruch erheben.
Als ich diese Aussage während der Moskauer Fernsehsendung machte, wurde ich vom Vorsitzenden des Russisch-Jüdischen Kongresses und Direktor eines zionistischen Nahost-Instituts angegriffen, einem schmierigen und fleckigen, brutalen Kerl mit überhängendem Wanst, eine lebendige Karikatur aus dem Stürmer mit dem dazu passenden Namen Satansovsky. "Paß bloß auf", sagte mir Satansovsky nach der Show, "scheinbar bist du noch nie ordentlich verdroschen worden. Hier in Moskau haben wir keine demokratischen Bedenken; meine jüdischen Kumpels werden dir die Eier schleifen, wie sie es schon mit einigen Typen wie dir getan haben. Israel soll auf ewig ein jüdischer Staat bleiben!"
Solche jüdischen Mafiosi sind die wahren Führer der jüdischen Lobby und die hauptsächlichen Verfechter des jüdischen Staates im Ausland. Diese Spezies leiten die jüdischen Organisationen in Rußland, in Amerika und anderswo. Sie brauchen einen jüdischen Staat, um in der Stunde des Zorns aus ihren Ländern flüchten zu können, aber wir, die normalen Bürger Israels, brauchen dies nicht.
Indessen, die Mafia kann nicht ewig herrschen. Ich beherzige die Worte Ahmadinedschads: "Der junge Baum des Widerstands grünt und blüht im Glauben und Verlangen nach Freiheit. Das zionistische Regime ist ein verfaulender und zerbröckelnder Baum, der mit einem Sturm fallen wird. [Erinnert Ihr Euch an das Gleichnis des dürren Baumes? - I.S.] Palästina ist der Treffpunkt von Recht und Unrecht. Das Schicksal der Region wird im Land Al-Quds entschieden, und es wird eine große Ehre sein, am Sieg Palästinas teilhaben zu dürfen."
Der Sieg Palästinas ist unser Sieg, und wir werden glücklich sein, daran teilhaben zu dürfen.
"Sag, wird es Krieg geben?", wird man oft gefragt. Ich besitze nicht das Vertrauen von George Bush, er teilt mir seine Pläne nicht mit. Während jedoch die Torhüter der Linken sagen, Öl sei der Grund für Krieg, bin ich der Meinung, Öl kann der Grund für Frieden sein. Nun, da der Preis für Öl die 70-Dollar-Schwelle überschritten hat, muß Präsident Bush entscheiden, ob er die Erhöhung von über 120 Dollar überstehen wird - ob seine Wähler freudestrahlend den Rat eines Experten vom American Jewish Congress, Eran Lerman (ehemaliger israelischer Agent), akzeptieren und dann ihre Wagen nur alle zwei Tage fahren. Bush hat die Macht, die USA von ihrem gefährlichen Kurs wegzusteuern, und kann dem jüdischen Kongreß sagen, sich davonzumachen.
Und an meine israelischen Landsleute: Erinnert euch an unsere seit langen Zeiten währende Freundschaft mit dem Iran. Vor zweitausend Jahren wurde ein Bild der iranischen Hauptstadt Susa am östlichen Portal des jüdischen Tempels in Jerusalem dargestellt. Die Mischna (Berakoth 9) gebot ihm gegenüber ganz besondere Vorsicht: "Zeige niemals Respektlosigkeit angesichts des Ostportals!" Laut Rambam wurde diese Ermahnung erteilt, um Furcht vor dem persischen König einzuflößen. Diese Tradition sollte in Erinnerung behalten und erhalten bleiben.
