TOKYO — Major Japanese security service firm Secom Co's British unit has won a deal to supply security systems for Heathrow Airport and two major railway stations in London, the company announced Thursday. The subsidiary, Secom PLC, signed the contract with London's Metropolitan Police Service, officials of the unit said.
The systems, comprising surveillance cameras, sensors, alarms and access control systems, will be installed at the airport's Terminal 5, and St Pancras and Stratford stations to support London police's security activity. The new airport terminal is scheduled to open in March 2008. The two stations serve passengers for Eurostar high-speed trains linking Britain and Continental Europe. (JCN)
